The IEA Solar Heating and Cooling Technology Collaboration Programme is involved in numerous ways to promote solar energy to the world.
Active Projects (Tasks)
The primary activity of the SHC Programme is to develop Projects (Tasks) to study various aspects of solar heating and cooling and disseminate. Each project (Task) is managed by an Task Manager from one of the member countries or sponsor organizations.

Publications (Tasks)
The SHC Programme has been researching and writing Publications on a variety of solar energy topics since 1977. There are publications about solar water heating, solar space heating, solar agricultural uses, solar district heating, solar industrial process heating, PV/thermal, solar cooling, passive solar, daylighting, thermal storage, seasonal storage, zero energy buildings, collector components, system components, standards and certification, solar data, and resources assessment, along with other solar-related research.

Solar Academy
The SHC Solar Academy is the latest effort by the SHC Programme to share it’s work and support R&D and implementation of solar heating and cooling projects worldwide. You can sign-up for future Solar Academy Webinars or view past webinars. You can watch videos recorded at various solar conferences in the past and you can participate in on-site trainings that SHC arranges in member countries.

Solar Heat Worldwide
Solar Heat Worldwide is published on an annual basis since 2005. With data from 68 countries, it is the most comprehensive evaluation of solar heating and cooling markets worldwide. Lead authors are Werner Weiss und Monika Spörk-Dür from the Austrian research institute AEE INTEC. Solar Heat Worldwide has a solid reputation as a reference source among international organizations including REN21 and International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA). The study was again the main contributor for the solar heating and cooling chapters of REN21’s Renewable 2020 Global Status Report, which is one of the primary policy adviser reports on renewables.
